Club re-opening news
When Ilford Liberal Club closed at the start of the lockdown period in March, we stated that the Committee would review the situation in three months’ time.
The Committee met on Thursday 25th June 2020 to discuss the latest Government guidance following the announcement that pubs and clubs were permitted to re-open from 4th July.
The Club intends to re-open as soon as possible and is looking into the safety measures we need to put in place to enable us to do so. We are liaising with the brewery and with our Health and Safety Officer to help us.
The Committee will meet again shortly to discuss a proposed re-opening date and the basis on which the Club will re-open.
The Club’s priority must be to ensure the safety and welfare of our staff and members at all times. We cannot re-open until a social distancing and Covid-compliant protocol is in place that satisfies the legal requirements.
Regrettably, this will not be on 4th July. We do not yet have a scheduled re-opening date, but we hope to do so imminently.
We appreciate that members are keen for the Club to re-open and to meet up again with friends. However, it is important that we proceed cautiously to ensure that we are fully compliant with the new legal requirements.
When the Club does re-open, there will inevitably be restrictions. We hope that you will all understand that these are necessary to ensure the Club remains compliant.

In the meantime, please continue to follow the latest public health guidance. We hope that everybody stays healthy and we hope to see you all as soon as possible.
On behalf of the Committee,
